Leftover Pizza Reheating Hack

Boo to soggy leftover pizza heated in the microwave!

Double boo to cold leftover pizza!

We learned this sweet hack while sitting at the bar of a local pizza joint. We had a couple of drinks, an appetizer (bruchetta!) and ordered the pizza to go.

Dude sitting next to us was getting his uneaten pizza boxed up and just CASUALLY mentioned how he reheats his in the morning for breakfast.

I felt the need to share with him how I freeze 3 or 4 slices in a ziploc and toss in the freezer for that quick pizza fix down the road!

Yes, we are approachable for random conversations!

Crazy. This is the BEST way to reheat your leftover pizza. Especially if it’s the GOOD pizza from your favorite pizza place!

Let’s do this!

Grab yourself a skillet and a lid that fits it somewhat snug … I say this because none of my skillets except the gigantic All-Clad do NOT have lids.

Heat the skillet over medium heat and lay your slices of pizza crust side down and cover.

Let that heat for a bit, check it occasionally, say in 4 or so minutes. Once the bottom is heated, give the slices a quick flip, and cover again.

Check that in 2 minutes or so. Your cheese WILL melt and make a mess if you don’t pay attention so PAY ATTENTION!

Flip over and dish up! Enjoy your delicious reheated pizza!

NOTE: I do NOT use oil, butter, ghee or anything else. I just dry heat it. I suppose you “could” use a little oil or spray if you want but I think pizza has enough stuff in it already and I’ve never had an issue with it being dried out or burnt. Just keep an eye on it when reheating!
