These were originally titled as “Harvest Moon Shots”, but as always, I was a tad late sharing and we did these again after the Bears lost another game to the Detroit Lions ….
Told sissy that we had to rename them, and at that time, it WAS the 2nd day of winter!
And here we are again … another Sunday and ready to watch the Bills take on the Broncos and well, it’s snowing and just too early for The Charming Dirty Snowman …
These actually originating a few months ago, back in late October, my niece, aka Sissy’s daughter, was in town. Of course we had to take her to some of our favorite places which included the BEST place to get french fries.
Odd, I know. But really, they have the best fries AND ice cold beer and the bartender, sweet Elaina, knows how to shake the Tito’s and Lemonade just right.
Anyways, we went, sat at a table as the bar was full. After we ate, the bar had a few seats open up so tabbed out with the waitress and sashayed on over to the bar.
*Sashayed is used very loosely around here*
Chatted a bit with our favorite bartender and decided to do a shot. I spied the Candy Corn syrup by Monin and inquired what she made with it.
Answer: a little bit of bourbon, splash of lemonade and a squirt of Candy Corn.
Ok, let’s give it a try!
Hmmm….tasty. So much so that I requested a little bit of the syrup to take home to mess around with on my own turf.
AND ordered a bottle, expedited shipping within a few hours as I only have a few more weeks to be messing around with anything called “Harvest”, right?
Winter is coming
Yup, this could be a 4 season, ever evolving (named) shot!
Spring: pollinating dreams
Summer: sunset dreams
Well, I’ll work on the other 2 seasonal names!
Ok, let’s get shaking!
2 oz bourbon of choice (we used Elijia Craig)
1 oz Monin Candy Corn Syrup (there may be other brands but this is just what I’ve seen)
1 oz of lemonade
Add that all to a shaker filled with ice, top it and shake it!
Strain into your shot glass, make a toast to whatever season we are in and drink!
Yup, I think this would make a nice martini as well and may just give that a try!
